The idea for the Our Holy Innocents Project came to Richard Jordan one day in 2010 when he was visiting his wife Linda’s grave in Mt. Carmel Cemetery in Belleville.

Catholic Urban Programs has provided services to communities in the Belleville diocese since 1973, and is one of the 14 ministries benefiting in part from The Catholic Service and Ministry Appeal.

Father James Jeffrey, ordained a priest for the Diocese of Fargo, N.D., who served in the Diocese of Belleville since his retirement from ministry in the Diocese of Fargo in 1999, died May 28 in Belleville. He was 83.
