Jesus is engaged in his Galilean ministry of teaching and healing. Bystanders told him that some of their fellow Galileans had recently been in Jerusalem, where Pontius Pilate, at least by his command, mingled the blood of Galileans with their sacrifices.

Riding on the St. Vincent de Paul “breakfast bus” Sunday, I was amazed by the generosity of so many people.

As this issue of The Messenger goes to press, we as members of the Catholic Church linked to others around the world, are just beginning our Lenten journeys. The ashes were distributed to the faithful and we are, in these cold days of winter, beginning to turn inward and reflect on whether our daily lives mirror the lessons of the Gospel.
