The body camera has rapidly become a requirement by many police departments in the United States. It helps police officers and citizens to have a more objective record of what actually happens when there is a conflict between members of the community and law enforcement.

It was a beautiful afternoon June 24 to break ground at Immaculate Conception in Columbia for the parish Catholic Education and Activity Center. In fact it was six years ago that the parish broke ground for the new church that stands now as a backdrop to this latest project.

Two priests and three parish life coordinators will retire from leadership roles in the Belleville diocese effective July 11.
