On this Sunday both Luke and the liturgy give us a break from the theme of Christians and wealth. This part of Luke’s Gospel is still under the framework of the “Journey to Jerusalem.”

Each year Catholic parishes throughout the United States begin the catechesis of their young parishioners through religious education programs held in the evenings or on weekends for those who do not or are unable to attend Catholic schools.

Corpus Christi in Shiloh, St. Clare and St. Nicholas parishes in O’Fallon jointly sponsored a youth rally (retreat) for young people in grades five and six from 3:30-5:30 on Aug. 28 in the school gym.
