Many students are among the more than 100 people who walked in support of an end to abortion Jan.26 in Carbondale. Some had already attended the national march for life in Washington, D.C., but also felt compelled to march in their local communities.

Editor’s note: Each year students are invited to write a letter to the pope congratulating him on his birthday. The schools send the letters to Bishop Edward K. Braxton who chooses a letter to send to the pope. This year, a student from Holy Childhood Catholic School in Mascoutah was selected.
